Main.PieterHartsook - 30 Mar 2007

Dear Mr. Hartsook,

Per your request, we have conducted an estimate of the foreign filing fees for CHANDLER in Classes 9 and 42 covering the Community Trademark. We recommend filing a Madrid Protocol application designating the Community Trademark because it is more cost effective, we do not need to pay a foreign associate to file the application as the filing is handled by Orrick. However, keep in mind that you we may need to appoint a foreign associate if there are substantive issues blocking registration of CHANDLER in the Community Trademark. The estimates for filing a Madrid Protocol application and a normal National filing are listed below:

National Filing Community Trademark Application in Classes 9 and 42 - $5500.00

Madrid Protocol Madrid Protocol application designating the Community Trademark - $4000.00

The Community Trademark covers the protection for the following countries: Austria, Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg), Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Please note that Firm policy requires pre-payment of the foreign filing costs. Please forward a check in the appropriate amount, which will then be put in a trust account for payment of the associate fees.

Also, our costs are not included in the estimate. Our costs stem from collateral activities, such as answering questions from and coordinating with the foreign associates, docketing dates, reporting of issues, and completing forms where required, but those costs in most cases tend to be quite modest.
