List of Terminology Issues and Proposals:

  1. (Item)Collections
    • Proposal: Labels
    • Issue: do we need both labels & collections? I feel collections connote a group while label connotes attribute?
    • MimiYin The advantage of Labels is that it's very clear that you can apply multiple labels to the same item. But maybe that's not a problem and we should stick with Collections.
  2. True Sharing
    • Proposal: Collection sharing
    • Also: deprecate remote browsing from Kibble
  3. Kind filter (toolbar containing the main PIM kinds: All, Mail, Events, Tasks)
    • Proposal: App Toolbar
    • Proposal for app toolbar button names: All, Mail, Events, Tasks
    • Alternate: All, Mailboxes, Calendar, Taskpad
    • MimiYin How about App bar? The Alternate proposal names are too long I think unless we are able to create a custom widget for the App bar.
  4. Dashboard view
    • Proposal: All, All my mail, All my events, All my tasks (depending on which app tool is selected)
    • Alternate: (keep) Dashboard, Triage
  5. Ad-hoc collections
    • Proposal: clusters
  6. Purge button
    • Proposal: Clean up button
    • MimiYin The only nice thing about Purge is that there is already a precendent in Palm, which also has a Purge feature that is similar to ours.
  7. Headline (attribute)
    • Proposal: Subject
    • Alternate: Title for Events and Tasks, Subject for Mail
  8. Reminder, alarms, ticklers
    • Proposal: Unify as "Reminder"
  9. Triage Status elements (was done, processing, later)
    • Proposal: Now, Done, Later
  10. All-day/anytime area (on the calendar view)
    • Proposal: Anytime area
  11. Busy-ness bars
    • Proposal: Busy bars
  12. Stamping button alt tags
    • Proposal: Send out or Received, Put on calendar, Put on taskpad
