Meeting Notes

Question du Jour

What should we change to this meeting to make it more efficient?
  • Change the phone system in Gotham!!
  • Use Video conferencing
  • Make sure that Philippe send the meeting agenda in advance...

0.7alpha2

Things we need to improve for alpha3 and beyond:
  • We need to make an effort on the plan: better bug list and task list in Bugzilla, super important
  • Proposal: use a Scrum cycle? Bryan had some experience with that. This would allow each of us to focus efforts more precisely.
  • Review of David's patch didn't go well
  • Having several people leaving at the end was tough

0.7alpha3

Big Features update:
  • Dashboard and Scheduling (Bryan) : plan to use Reid's multistate button for the stamping UI in the Dashboard. Reading the Dashboard spec and creating task. Focusing on Alec's bugs first.
  • Free / Busy (Jeffrey) : at CalConnect today
  • Toolbar (Reid) : Working on the search UI for the toolbar, John mentioning that we had redraw issues with something similar in the past, overlapping widgets are not supported by wx.
  • Styles / CPIA (John) : nothing on Styles yet, need to work on Dashboard first.
  • wx (Robin) : SVN / Build issue, then move wx to a more recent version.

Misc

  • Interns and SoC : Please participate to the upcoming Office Hour on IRC each Wed @ 11am.
  • GeekTalk : Code review of MarkUp Bar and Multistate button, Reid - Monday June 5th

Status

Jeffrey

  • Went to Calconnect. The airlines on two out of three legs of this trip took an extra 4-6 hours, hopefully my return next Sunday will be less eventful.
  • Implemented freebusy report handling in Chandler on the plane and in the interop. Found and resolved several issues doing read-write with other CalDAV servers than Cosmo. There's a bit more work to be done

John

  • Fixed Bug#5916: Edit->Clear blew away my All Collection and the unrelated bug it uncovered. Also rearranged wxSynchronizeWidget.
  • Reviewed patch for Bug#5840. Ran into a bunch of snags, which I tried, unsuccessfully to sort out. Postponing further work until after alpha 2.
  • Fixed Bug#5919: traceback when deleting imported, recurring event from table view and removed the previous workaround
  • Fix Bug#5784: Summary view columns compressed and, I suspect #5893: Sidebar collections disappear, which was probably a dup.

Markku

  • Provided the latest modifications to Brian and helped him to start working on them.
  • Checked the bugs that are assigned to me and made sure that those are being taken care of one way or the other.
  • Learned to use GNU gettext tools and prepared a plan to use them on XRC based dialogs.
  • Currently in the process of learning python eggs and how they are going to be used in Chandler.
  • Have invited an informal meeting to discuss about python eggs and their use in Chandler. This meeting will take place next Tuesday and the exact time will be notified later.

Philippe

  • Monitored the final stages of alpha2 (done at last!...)
  • Spent time in Bugzilla reassigning and reviewing bugs for alpha3 and 0.7 in general
  • Worked with Xun, SoC student, on Multi Variate Analysis idea

Reid

  • Holiday Monday: Victoria Day in Canada
  • Fixed Bug#5938 by checking in Mimi's updated Markup buttons and adapting code (size changed by 1 vertically)
  • SWAG'ed all alpha3 bugs
  • started looking into Search on Toolbar
  • started investigating Linux wx more
    • I currently have 4 Linux-specific wx bugs for alpha3

Robin

  • Updated all of the wxPython modules to use the new renaming strategy.
  • Final Summer of Code reviews and prioritization. wxWidgets was allocated three slots, but unfortunately none of the wxPython specific projects made the cut.
  • Finished the demo and checked in my wrappers for the wxRichTextCtrl. There is still more work needing done, but it is at a functional point now.
  • Fixed a spacing problem on wxGTK for static box sizers that don't have a label.
  • Added some more enhancements for the pywxrc tool.
  • Started reviewing the chandler specific changes to wx, and began planning how to approach the transition to the new wx repository and automated update that has been discussed.
  • Reviewed all of the new bugs transferred to me due to David's leaving. Some of them I am fairly sure will be fixed when we get the new wxWdigets code moved over and synchronized.

Bryan

  • Checked in the startup-options box.
  • Starting to figure out how the dashboard works.
  • fixing other bugs while waiting for the alpha3 plan details.
